About SilverChef
WHEN IT comes to commercial kitchen fit-outs or refurbishments, it’s the customised equipment and fixtures that often account for most of the cost.
This made-to-measure equipment can be pricey and, for some businesses, unaffordable. Even if you have the money, purchasing the equipment outright could put pressure on your business’s cash flow.
SilverChef’s Custom Equipment Lease makes customised equipment easier to obtain and reduces your financial exposure by enabling you to pay for the equipment in manageable instalments over two years.
The custom equipment SilverChef funds includes not only tailor-made equipment, but other types of ‘non-standard’ equipment, fixtures and fittings too (see list below).
This list is not comprehensive: To find out whether the equipment you want is eligible for Custom Equipment Lease, please call us on 0800 453 010.
^ Cannot comprise more than 10% of the total value of the equipment in the lease agreement.
You order the custom or ‘non-standard’ commercial kitchen equipment you want and, after approving your finance application, we buy it for you.
You lease the equipment from us for manageable, weekly payments over two years.
At the end of the lease, you own the equipment.
Securing funding for customised hospitality equipment can be challenging at the best of times, especially for start-ups.
If the bespoke equipment helps your business makes a profit, chances are we’ll be happy to finance it.
Instead of paying for the custom equipment outright, you can pay for it in manageable, weekly instalments out of the money it helps you make.
This helps safeguard your business’s cash flow, allowing you to meet your other expenses and expand your business with greater ease.
The weekly lease payments are fixed for the life of the agreement.
Since you pay the same amount each week, your budgeting and cash-flow projections will also be simpler.
The interest segment of your commercial kitchen equipment lease payments is a tax-deductible expense.
In addition, you can claim a deduction for the equipment’s depreciation over its useful life.*
Each lease payment takes you a step closer to owning your custom commercial kitchen equipment outright.
When the two-year finance term ends, the equipment is yours.
As well as custom commercial kitchen equipment, we finance standard equipment (Rent–Try–Buy and Lease-to-Keep).
This means virtually all the equipment, fixtures and fittings you could possibly need for your venue can be funded by us. Easy!
Terms and conditions apply. Customers should seek taxation, legal or other professional advice independent to their personal circumstances before applying.
*Actual customers, told in advance they might be included in advertising.

Yes — but only the interest segment of the payments.*
Yes — the decline in the value of your leased equipment can be claimed as a tax deduction.
Though depreciation deductions are generally available only to the asset’s legal owner, hire-purchase arrangements like Custom Equipment Lease are generally treated as a notional sale of goods.
This means the lessee (you) rather than the legal owner (SilverChef) is entitled to claim the depreciation of the equipment over its useful life.*
(This is unless you’re eligible to claim an immediate or accelerated deduction using a tax-depreciation incentive.)
Although the equipment is in your possession, SilverChef owns it until you submit your last lease payment, whereupon you become the owner.
We’ll record an interest in the equipment on the Personal Property Security Register (PPSR).
You’re free to use the equipment as you please, but only for business (not personal/domestic) purposes; and provided you don’t sell, give, assign, lend or release the equipment to a third party to use without our okay.
Also, if you shift the equipment from the location you originally provided us, you must let us know straight away.
No — Custom Equipment Lease does not give you the option to upgrade the equipment.
