Can I collect the equipment myself?

Certainly — while going through the online checkout process, you’ll be given a choice to pick up the Certified Used or clearance equipment, if it’s warehoused nearby; or you can telephone us to inform us of your preference.

Our warehouses are located in:

  • Auckland
  • Christchurch

If you choose to collect the equipment, we’ll organise a pick-up time that works for both parties.

Of course, you’ll need to have the vehicle, personnel and gear needed to safely load, ferry, and unload the equipment.

Equipment returns

There are several circumstances in which customers may be able to return equipment to us.

For example, if the delivered equipment does not match the publicised specifications or is dented or scratched during shipping.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request an exact delivery day and time?

While we can deliver your equipment on a certain weekday, we can’t guarantee precisely what time of the day it will be delivered.

Do you deliver equipment on Saturdays and Sundays?

No — we deliver on weekdays only.

Will the equipment be delivered to the inside of my business premises?

No — we provide standard kerbside delivery of equipment (door-to-door) only.

Will SilverChef remove my old equipment?

If you’re renting equipment from us and you decide to upgrade to a bigger, better or different piece of Certified Used or clearance equipment, we’ll call you to verify your delivery address and time.

If you’d us to remove your original equipment, please let us know during the call.

Will it be necessary for me to sign for the equipment delivery?

Yes — you or a representative must be available at the delivery address to sign for the equipment.

Alternatively, when you order the equipment, you can give us permission to drop off the equipment without a signature.

(In this scenario, we’ll grant our carrier ‘authority to leave’ the delivery, permitting them to leave the equipment at the delivery address even though the addressee isn’t there.)

Does SilverChef install equipment?

No — unless it’s plug-and-play equipment, customers will need to arrange and pay for a trained technician to install their equipment.
